FUTURE OF SEEGRID
Video for the autonomous robotics firm Seegrid.
I worked in close collaboration with Seegrid & Team Lewis to produce a speculative video on the future of Seegrid’s technology.

Foundation
This project developed from an initial set of work with Seegrid to depict their current technology in a more concise and visually appealing way, that aligned with the company’s brand. Based on the success of this project I was asked to produce a video on the future of their technology. The first phase of this process was designing a set of abstract AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) that could act as a proxy for their current robots.
Iteration
The decision was made early on to emphasize the road map of their AI-driven software as opposed to their hardware. As such the design of the AMR needed to feel futuristic but be abstract enough to act as an avatar for what their hardware may look like in the future. I iterated through a variety of designs working in close parallel with their team to reach a design that felt futuristic while referencing a number of key design features of the current AMR.
Refinement
Due to the complexity inherent in a number of the shots, it was decided early on that a portion of the animation needed to be procedural if possible. This allowed for quick iteration and scalability of the scenes. The final video used a combination of hand-animated keyframes and procedural animation. For example, the holographic material change of the AMR units, the UI rings and data streams were all animated using procedural or looping animations.
