Illustrations for the digital consultancy firm Elsewhen.

I was tasked with producing a set of illustrations for the firm’s new white paper, ‘Embedded Finance: The Next Big Opportunity’.

Guidelines

The initial phase of the project was allocated to experimenting with and developing from an established style and motif the company had developed during their previous projects.

Iteration

A portion of the production time was spent experimenting with a variety of core shapes and material treatments. The decision was made early on that the component shapes would be kept abstract to align with previous designs. This would also allow for greater flexibility illustrating a wider variety of concepts.

Refinement

After deciding on a core set of shapes, the final phase of the design process was spent finalising the color, material, and lighting treatment of the images, landing on a balance between graphic compositions and naturalistic lighting. The treatment of the material was kept purposely minimal, instead choosing to emphasise the brand colors.
